Lander Weigh Station Information
State: Wyoming Scales and DOT
Highway: RT 20 789 287
Location: Lander
Information
Locals say there is a scale at this DOT building but it is not a weigh station. An officer would have to suspect a trucker is overweight and escort him to the location. To the best of our knowledge, it is not a weigh station that trucks must stop at.

I drove by the scale the other day making a delivery to a local store in Lander. I was kind of confused if I was supposed to stop there or not. Lander has a few signs posted saying something about if you are not an authorized CMV, you need to contact WDOT for a permit. To me, the sign needs to be a little more specific. How do you know if you are authorized or not? I wasn't hauling anything hazardous, or any livestock, so I just blew by it, made my delivery and left. I haven't been able to speak to anyone that knows what you're supposed to do there. That's why I'm here looking for more information.
