We are 82340# and went around the Carson scales in Virginia on I-95 southbound using the alternative route. We passed 2 state troopers on Rt 602. They pulled us over. We were over length and overweight. Nothing over 65 feet on Rt 602. You may want to note this on the alternate route section. Its a $75 fine for over length plus $67 court cost. The fine for being 2300# over is $67 court costs, plus $0.03 per pound over, the total fine was $136. Also, he took my license and truck registration and told me to follow him back to the scales. He told me if I didn't follow him back, he would arrest me and charge me with a class one misdemeanor. One went in front of us and the other stayed behind us all the way back to the northbound scales.

It is a lot easier to get off at exit 30 and take 40 east to the stop sign and go left to 95 about 12-13 miles up the road and its alot less suspicious.
