South Carolina Weigh Stations Truck Scales

South Carolina has color-coded signs to tell you if the weigh station is open or closed. Closed is in red lights and Open is in green lights. This is not a uniform color-coding in all states- some use red for open and green for closed.

The South Carolina fuel tax rate is $0.168 per gallon of diesel fuel. This rate includes a $0.0025 per gallon inspection fee and a $0.005 per gallon environmental fee for underground storage tank (UST) cleanup.

(Fair Play) – I 85 nb South Carolina Weigh Station Truck Scales
There is a Mobil truck stop off exit 4 and a rest area at the .5 mm south of the Fair Play scale. There is a Shell truck stop at exit 21, a rest area at mile marker 18, and a Fuel Club at exit 14 north of the weigh station.

(Canadys) – I 95 sb South Carolina Weigh Station Truck Scales
This is a wide spot where DOT can set up portables or inspections. It is blocked off by plastic barriers. exit 82 has a Wilco/Hess north of the scales and exit 68 has a Circle C truck plaza south of the scales

This is a pullout area that is blocked off by plastic barriers. Exit 68 has a Circle C truck stop south of the scales. Exit 82 has a Wilco/Hess north of the scales.

Chapin (Columbia) – I 26 wb South Carolina Weigh Station Truck Scales
There is a Pilot truck stop at exit 115 east of the Columbia weigh station.

Hardeeville I 95 nb South Carolina Weigh Station Truck Scales
The open/closed sign for this scale is missing or broken- we have never seen this scale open but we have heard that they do use it sometimes. Exit 5 has a truck stop, but exit 8 has a larger truck stop north of the Hardeeville scales. Exit 109 in Georgia has a Pilot south of the weigh station.

Hardeeville I 95 sb South Carolina Weigh Station Truck Scales
This is marked as a scale on the freeway but we have never seen it open. Local drivers say they do open sometimes. Exit 5 has a truck stop, but exit 8 has a larger truck stop north of the Hardeeville scale. Exit 109 in Georgia has a Pilot south of the truck weigh station.

Harleyville (Charleston) – I 26 eb South Carolina Weigh Station Truck Scales
This weigh station used color-coded signs to indicate open or closed. Closed is lit up with red letters and open is lit up with green letters. There is a Horizon truck stop at exit 172 A west of the weigh station.

There is a Horizon Truck Stop at exit 172 A on I 26.

Lexington (Columbia) – I 20 wb South Carolina Weigh Station Truck Scales
There is a small BP truck stop at exit 55 east of the Lexington truck scale with a very small truck parking lot.

Pomeria (Columbia) – I 26 eb South Carolina Weigh Station Truck Scales
When this scale is closed, the sign is in red letters. There is little or no room at the eb Pomeria weigh station for parking, inspections or offloading of freight.

Rock Hill (Charlotte) – I 77 nb South Carolina Weigh Station Truck Scales
There is a rest area across from the scales on the south bound side. There is a Loves Travel Center at exit 83 and a Flying J at exit 73 south of the Rock Hill weigh station.

Rock Hill (Charlotte) – I 77 sb South Carolina Weigh Station Truck Scales
This scale is open rarely, if ever, according to locals. There is a south bound rest area across from the north bound scales at mile marker 89 north of the Rock Hill weigh station. There is a Loves Travel Center at exit 83 and a Flying J truck stop at exit 73 south of the truck scale.

Steedman (Columbia) – I 20 eb South Carolina Weigh Station Truck Scales
There is a BP with diesel islands at exit 33 west of the Steedman weigh station. There is another BP- a truck stop- at exit 39 east of the truck scale.
