A buddy of mine was going around this scale off exit 171 (Route 25/Cygnet exit) & guess what was waiting for him at the end of the ramp. Why it was a big old diesel bear that already had him 2 other poor truckers. So trucker beware if you go around them they might be sitting there waiting for you. If they aren't then make the left at the end of the ramp. Cross back over I-75 then make the immediate right onto OH-25 NB. Take 25 north past Portage, OH. to US-6. Take a right onto the ramp for eastbound US-6. Follow that back over to I-75 NB. ***Caution*** Besides the ramp warning also be aware that both county cops & state troopers sometimes hide out along that OH-25. I've never had a problem myself going this way in the daytime or at night. Its actually safer to go around them in the daytime rather than night. I say this because if you have any lights out it'll give them a good excuse to pull you over at night. Going around the scale with lights out on the tractor or trailer is definately a bad idea in the dark. If you do happen to get pulled over just tell the officer you're going to the Wal*mart up the road. If he asks you why you didn't just go up to US-6 just tell him you didn't know you could go that way. This too is a good thing to keep in mind. If you notice one of these money hungry officers pull out behind you before you get to US-6 then please do not panic. Just continue on OH-25 north past US-6 & the Wal*mart I wrote about will be on your left. Just pull into Wal*mart & hope to god the trooper doesn't follow you. Goodluck...
