CoopsAreOpen.com Server Attacked by Hackers
If you tried to use CoopsAreOpen.com over the last two days, you may have seen a message stating that the website was unavailable. That’s because the server we are on was the target of a DOS attack
What’s a DOS attack? DOS stands for Denial Of Service. It basically means that hackers targeted our server in an attempt to cause a disruption in our ability to operate. It worked. The server had to reset itself and, even though it reset itself early Wednesday afternoon, some web browsers (like Mozilla and Internet Explorer) weren’t able to find the website until Thursday.
It looks like everything is back to normal for now. If you have any problems logging in, please contact us at information@coopsareopen.com to receive an auto-reply email with a list of common FAQs including login tips.
