This weigh station was virtually closed for some time but New Mexico has put in a permanent scale house now and is weighing trucks at all hours.

This weigh station will close after 5:00pm Mountain time usually, but on occasion will open all night. there is only a west bound scale and no stopping for the east bounders. There are many ways around the scales, but paved roads are watched at all possible by roving officers! There are dirt roads around if it has not been raining lately. The DOT are very Gunhoe guys in New Mexico, so watch yourself there! I will get back to you later on how to get around the Texico Coops. I will also get some pics of this the next time I go through there in the next few days or so. If you are caught over-weight in New Mexico and cannot get it right, they WILL make you off-load to get it right! and No Authority can cost you up to $10,000. I went through this before!
