Parking: Exit 16 has Texaco, TA and Love's truck stops east of the Gallup check station. There is a Speedy's Truck Stop at the border to Arizona west of the jump scales.
Information
This is a pullout area across from the east bound port of entry that is intended to be used for random DOT checks and portables only. There is no building there. They put the check station in during major road construction done on I 40 in this area prior to 2007.

It was about 2:30PM on 12/12/06. When DOT was checking all the log books and the portable scales were out checking weight. There were a couple dozen trucks every where some with creepers under them.
