this doesnt have anything to do with the trucking business, but hey, its still a "cop story"...did u hear in the news almost a year ago (or there abouts) about the retired cop (he was a cop for 25 years and retired at age 52) ..he eventually got a job at Target as a security guard, just for something to do. one time he noticed a young female in the booze section..later he reviewed the security tape and saw she stole some booze..so he made a picture of her from that tape and kept an eye open for her..two weeks later, she comes in, so he went back and watched her on the cameras, and sure enough, he saw her put more booze in her purse..so he went out and talked to her and asked her if she put a bottle in her bag and she said yes, and he looked and there it was..so he took her to the office and called her dad (she is only 16).. dad came down and thanked him for calling him and took his brat home....three days later the cop was fired for "detaining her"..that is NOT his job..he is suppose to call the head manager (none on duty at the time) and only they can make the stop. now how retarded is that? a ex cop, security guard can not detail an underaged person for stealing booze..needless to say, a lawsuit is in the works...the girls dad was very thankful that the cop stopped her and made him aware that his kid was up to no good. ok thats the end of my story!! any opinons?

That's unequivocally reprehensible! Full story Here.

It happened on March 7th of this year in Lake Geneva,WI. The security guard's name is Dean Babcock...

Of course what do you expect in a country that allows two Border Patrol Agents (Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean) to go to prison for trying to stop an illegal alien drug smuggler (Osbaldo Aldrete-Davila )...

Political Correctness run amok!

So according to the story/article about "stealing from target", ANYONE can verily steal anything one can conceivably carry out the door and there's nothing the store folk can do about it??
Why don't they simply put a sign on all entrance doors stating: "If one is suspected of stealing, one will not be detained because we here don't want to upset any plans".
The sign on exit doors could well read as: "Thank You for your patronage and if you have anything you haven't paid for, enjoy it with our blessings.
Do stop by and visit us again as we respect your shopping choice."

there was enough publicity about target not having a manager on duty at all times to detail shop lifters, that i am sure they shop lifting double!! one would think target would be grateful to him, he could have saved lives that night by stopping her..
