I had the misfortune of having my headache rack door come open and the falling straps taking out my air lines, ABS wiring, knocking a hole in the air tank and breaking the fittings to the power divider valve & brake chamber...What a mess.

The only shop in town....and almost for 100 miles was H&H Truck Service. I thought oh boy...what a screwing I am going to get.....WRONG.

They did an excellent job of putting averything back together quickly and at a fair price. Their shop labor rate was $70 an hour.

If you need service in that area I would recommend them.

You sound like you share MY opinion of independent/ no-need-to-worry-about-our-reputation shops...

That's great that they did a good job. That's more than you can say about the TA 90% of the time in my experience!

Sounds like you had a lot that needed fixin' too...

While we are on the subject (and maybe I should post this in the tire section) we had a TERRIBLE experience quite a few years back at the tire shop at "the main event" in Quartzite AZ across from the Pilot truck stop.

The guy talked us into buying a recap tire for our drive that had a hole he said he "couldn't" plug. The recap blew 200 miles down the road and he blew us off. I paid him cash rather than putting it on my card. At least with Visa you can protest the charge (even if you don't win- just to cause the agravation would be gratifying!). The guy was an ass.

We know much more now than we did back then (of course, you can say that about anything- I'm sure I'll be saying that 10 years from now!).
