My Little Margie, I Married Joan, Love That Bob (with Ann B. Davis as "Shultzy" you guys remember her as Alice on The Brady Bunch), Science Fiction Theater, One Step Beyond, Father Knows Best, The Many Loves Of Dobie Gillis (with Ronny Howard long before Mayberry, Bob Denver long before Gilligan's Island and Warren Beatty long before he became a movie star), The Burns & Allen Show, The Jack Benny Hour, Your Show Of Shows (with Sid Ceaser & Imogene Coca), The Swamp Fox ( with Leslie Nielsen back before he discovered he was funny), etc., etc., etc. ad infinitum...That's right 'ol Russ is older than dirt...ROTFLMAO
BTW, I watched all of these in first run in glorious Black & White.[/quote]

I never saw that show with Leslie Nielson yet I did see and dig the flick of Forbidden Planet (of '56). That was also b4 he was discovered as funny.
Father Knows Best and Leave it to Beaver were the norm in the 60's and 70's, along with the monotonous Andy Griffith show and the spin off shows. _________________ All Women are Ladies till they prove otherwise. |

I was curious as to how this thread was corrupted and I AM THE ONE THAT DID IT!! not.
I mentioned some t.v. shows and off it went.
Should we keep it on this topic or rework it to the original topic?? _________________ All Women are Ladies till they prove otherwise. |

Ah yes, Forbidden Planet arguably the best science fiction film ever. My favorite line is from Anne Francis. She asks Leslie Nielsen if he wants to go swimming and he says that he didn't bring his bathing suit and she responds with "What's a bathing suit"? That was pretty risque for the 50's. I saw it for the first time when I was about 10 or 11('58 or '59) with a saturday matinee full of kids my age and the nervous laughter was deafening...The crew of the ship was composed of many actors who later became famous for the t.v. series' they starred in (Richard Anderson,Six Million Dollar Man; Earl Holliman, Police Woman; James Drury,The Virginian; etc. )...LOL Russ _________________ Who is John Galt? |
