Heads up, ya'll.

They are doing a major crackdown on all vehicles, including trucks, on and near I-75 north of Atlanta.

Here is the story online:

http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/stories/2008/06/02/thunder_0602.html

The story says over the next THREE months they will be pulling people over day and night for speeding, seatbelts, and sobriety checks. I'm sure for truckers that will also include logbook and paperwork checks as well as vehicle inspections since the Georgia Motor Carrier Compliance Division is also involved.

Consider MM 308 to MM 278 as the enforcement area.

Happy trucking.

BigBen

Thanks for the heads up BigBen. This is an excellent example of how we as a community can help each other out with valuable information.

As with everything else, I'll figure the seatbelt laws have been altered somewhat since most states didn't pull one over JUST FOR seatbelt violations.
California, FloriDUH, Tennessee are the 3 that I know CAN AND WILL pull one over JUST FOR the seatbelt not being used.

Next up will be sitting in ones truck while committing the crimes of Idling and NOT wearing ones seatbelt while parked.

Is here in Maine, too. They've bee trying to pass a a couple of new ones.

No smoking in a vechile with children under the age of 18. They did pass this in Bangor and now their trying to make it a state law Shocked

Also trying to get it passed if you have kids at home can't smoke in your own house.

You'd think our reps would have better things to do than tell us what we can and can't do in the privacy of our home or in our vechiles Mad

These new laws would NEVER have worked say in the 40s to the 70s, and they're not gonna work now.
WHEN was the last time anyone ever heard or read a story regarding someone smoking a Cigarette, Cigar or Tobacco Pipe and blacking out while driving into a Crowd, Storefront, Head On into another Vehicle, etc..??

Smoking is NOT as much a problem as Alcohol, but let's attack the small things first.
There are a LOT of people that can't drive and a LOT of them can't drive after drinking Alcohol, but without the Alcohol, most CAN drive while smoking Tobacco products.
Oh yeah, I'm sorry, let's attack the small things first.
