It was a fun idea and interesting to watch but I was never impressed with the money they were making. I mean- that's some cold stuff up there. You'd have to pay me a lot more than that to get me to do it.

And, when you consider I 80 and above in the winter time- 75 mph freeways that go from dry to ice-covered with no warning, I don't see the ice roads being all that dangerous.

Okay, okay, if you drop THROUGH the ice that would obviously be bad. But how many truckers die due to ice covered roads in the states compared to how many die up on the ice road? From what I remember, there was an equipment operator who went through the ice a few years back and that's pretty much it- they sensationalized the heck out of that.

They've got engineers working on that road the whole season- compare that to the woefully lacking number of snow plows on our roads!
