I talked to the TVC Pro-Driver lady and I'm thinking about signing up. Are they worth the money?

I don't think so. I used them for a few years but the prices are really high for what you get. It's nice to have a lawyer show up in court in case your officer decides to take the day off, but other than that, I found it was a huge waste.

I know a lot of drivers use TVC but they seem kind of pricey to me. I think I'd rather slow down and take my chances- they won't help you with logbook or other violations other than speeding.

They got me out of a ticket- the cop didn't show up. I wouldn't have been able to get to the court house that day so I'd have ended up paying it and having it on my record.

I joined in Aug 09, they stated "no points" is their goal. I received a ticket in Atlanta and they had an attorney represent me. My sign up was $42.90, and because I got the ticket that same month it cost me $295.00 on top of the membership fee. I just received notice that the attorney pleaded "Nolo Contendo" (no contest, which gave me a fine of $145.00 with all court cost.

When I asked about points he stated because its a no contest plea it shouldn't have points but couldn't guarantee this. I could have paid the fine of $145.00 and been just as well off! Instead this cost me almost$500 bucks for the same outcome! Mad

Then to top it off I was told I only had to pay for one month memebrship and then decide if I wanted to continue after reviewing the outcome of the case and package of literature they were supposed to send. They never sent literature, and I found out they charged me on my CC an additional $42.90 which I am disputing with the CC company. So in all it cost me time, aggravation and more money than it should have. Hire an outright attorney on your own! Mad

My favorite thing to tell them is "I didn't get a ticket that I didn't deserve"

In my 19 yrs out here I have recieved 3 tickets. Speeding in VA back when we had the 55mph speed limit for everybody. Going to fast for road conditons in CT. 1 mph over in the middle lane and it was clear, dry day in April. Trust me when I tell ya this. At the time of this ticket it was cheaper to take the going to fast rather than the speeding ticket. 1 mile over was $395 compared to the going to fast was $125. In my home state
I got a logbook violation not current $275. That same fine is now $900 or higher. My logbook is now current at all times.

When I had my accident back in Jan of this year I recieved no tickets Very Happy

This is a good reason to keep your logbook current. I do get anal retentive
about different things on my truck. Weight, lights etc. I leave nothing open to their interpatation of the laws.

I received a speeding ticket not on a Highway in my 4 wheeler in Jan. '08 and while it was a falsehood (the incompetent cop was targeting the vehicle ahead of me), I received the ticket.
After ALL expenses of the attorney fee, court cost and fine, that simple ticket was over $500.00
The speeding charge was reduced to Improper Equipment--Speedometer.
I acquired ZERO points.

I have never considered those plans as reliable or cost productive as they're usually as you well know, more hassles than they're advertised and initially worth.

As you and others have stated:
Acquire local counsel and proceed or represent oneself.

Russellmania will attest however that a plan he has been with for some time IS cost effective and has saved his tail.
